New Faces of Domination

In the absence of Kerri and Misty on the sand this summer, I thought maybe the women's side of the AVP Tour would be able to spread the wealth a bit.

But if the early results are any indication, Branagh and Youngs appear to be 2009's new dominant duo. At present, they've appeared in all four event finals and won the first three in a row.

But last weekend in Houston, Kessy and Ross were finally able to break the streak and get their first tournament win. Hopefully this win will set the stage for an interesting new rivalry if Kessy and Ross can keep coming out to battle.

So far the only other pair we've seen make the final is Hanson/Rutledge who beat Kessy and Ross to get there, but then lost fairly handily to Branagh/Youngs.The season is young yet, but I would still like to see some other teams find their way to the finals in tournaments to come.
