Taking a page from Lebron's playbook, Kerri Walsh announced her decision regarding the partner she'll play with for the remainder of the AVP season during the broadcast of the women's final from Long Beach.
There was much speculation about who she would choose, if she'd steal Misty back from Nicole or go with a new name. In the end, she says she sent Misty an email but Misty responded that she was committed to playing out the season with Nicole Branagh.
So Kerri, who had her choice of any player on the Tour, chose Brooke Hanson. The 29-year old Hanson out of UCSB just broke up with her partner Lisa Rutledge last week. She played with Lauren Fendrick this past weekend in Long Beach and took fifth.
Hanson has been close to winning an event with two second place finishes in the last three years, but she has not yet broken through. Kerri is hoping to change that, but she'll probably have to face off against her old partner to do it. Misty and Nicole won this week in Long Beach.
Kerri and Brooke have three weeks to prepare for their debut in San Francisco on August 14th.
