NCAA Men: The Match with Three Endings

By April 11, 2012

Follow me on:

The top ten teams remained unchanged on the AVCA poll this week, but the news of the week was a controversial call that led to one of the strangest endings in volleyball history. It's too complicated to explain here so check out this account of what happened. Suffice it to say that the match had three endings. First BYU won, then UCLA, then BYU again.

BYU complained and the MPSF actually decided to replay the ending of the game starting at 16-16. Craziness.

Elsewhere in the poll, there is a new addition. Harvard finally found its way to the No. 15 spot after taking Penn State to five sets. Hawaii falls off the poll after two losses to UC Santa Barbara to continue an eight-match losing streak.

The match of the week is in Palo Alto, as No. 5 Stanford welcomes No. 3 UCLA to The Farm. Also check out Penn State at BYU this weekend. Here are the rest of your matches to watch:

No. 6 Pepperdine @ No. 11 CSUN
