History
of Greatness
The author, Arthur R. Couvillon, spent his life writing technical books
on fire fighting and as a big beach volleyball fan. Arthur has chronicled
and compared the careers of the two most winningest players in beach volleyball,
Karch Kiraly and Sinjin
Smith. The book gives a detailed side-by-side column-by-column
accounting with photos of these two players' careers. The book starts
off giving a quick summary of each players accomplishments, which include
interesting tidbits of information and humorous anecdotes. While
the column-by-column format takes a little patience getting used the end
result is a new perspective when reading about these two players who started
their careers as opponents, became one of the most famous partners on the
beach, and then enemies. The price of $9.95 may seem a little high
for something a little more than a pamphlet, but the true volleyball fan
will appreciate the amount of time put into this reference and is a welcomed
addition to any beach volleyball fan's library.
