Camp Administrator: Coach Houser currently runs a great summer camp program called Star Summer Camps. Who is Coach Houser?: Tom Houser is a CAP Level II coach and was the head varsity volleyball coach at Bassett High School for 16 seasons. He left Bassett in the summer of 2000 to marry Sara. They live in Roanoke, Va along with her two daughters. Coach Houser is presently teaching math at Staunton River High School.
During the time he was at Bassett he won 11 Piedmont District Championships and compiled a 255-48 record. He also has won over 100 JV matches and over 200 Junior matches. Coach Houser is now the 3rd winningest active volleyball coach in the state. In 1991 he founded the Piedmont Aerial Attack Junior Program, but he's now the head coach of the Roanoke Junior 14's in Roanoke Va. (http://members.aol.com/roanokejrs/). Twenty-four of the girls that he has coached have gone on to play collegiate volleyball. He has been a camp clinician at 30 different camps, including Averett College in Danville, VA, at Appalachian State University in Boone, NC, and at dozens of high schools. He directed three camps in the summer of 2001. In the summer of 1996 he took a team to the Appalachian State Volleyball Team Camp and came home as the only undefeated champion in the history of the camp (36-0).
