I don’t care how the parents of players
behave, as long as (you know what I’m going to say) their behavior DOESN’T
DISRUPT THE TEAM!!! Since spectators can only react to
what they see, they are usually more emotional than coaches, who, like
I said before, should be concentrating on creating,
thinking, analyzing, and making quick decisions.
I wish all parents could tell when
they’re crossing the "what's best for the team" line--but some can’t
tell or don’t care. Everyone knows that hollering at the officials
often makes them HARDER on your team. Think about it for a
minute..........the referees aren't pros making thousands per game..They
have other jobs every day, and they don’t want to spend the evening being
hollered at, and most don't appreciate it. Therefore, isn’t is obvious
why some referees respond negatively to heckling or criticism?
Most referees don't have a grudge against either team. Hey,
parents: trust that most officials are truly doing the best job possible.
So, to prevent from hurting your own team, how about just leaving the referees
alone, enjoy the volleyball game, and let the coach handle disagreements
with the officials.
If you have other questions
that you think I should address, please send me an email.
