The men's volleyball team qualified for the London Olympics with an impressive win at the NORCECA qualifier in Long Beach, CA. It was the first time that an American volleyball team has had the opportunity to qualify on American soil. The team won the tournament by displaying a new focus that took them to the next level.

Very sad news came from the Russian Federation last week. Sergey Ovchinnikov, the Russian women's Olympic team coach, was found hanged last week in his Croatian hotel room.
