The Men’s World Cup is the first opportunity for volleyball teams to qualify for the London 2012 Olympics. The top three finishers will earn a berth.

World Cup is a 12-team round-robin tournament in which teams were chosen based on their performance in their Continental Championships. The winner from all five regions - North America, South America, Europe, Asia and Africa - automatically qualified. The four best ranking 2nd place finishers also qualified.
